Come and enjoy the holiday spirit with Foster Parents and staff form ICS, LMO, MCFD and SCFS as we have a potluck lunch and build Christmas hampers for youth who are living independently on youth agreements.

Over 10 years ago, the Kamloops Foster Parents thought it would be nice to create Christmas hampers for the youth on independent living agreements.They held a potluck Christmas luncheon and asked everyone to bring something for the hampers.The first year, they provided 7 hampers; since then the project has grown dramatically, increasing in numbers each year.This year, we are providing
50 hampers to youth on independent living and youth agreements and
10 hampers to youth who have aged out of care and are between 19-24 .

These hampers were provided this year by the Kamloops Foster Parents, the Kamloops Branch of the BC Federation of Foster Parents, Interior Community Services – Support to Family Care Network staff, Ministry of Children & Family Development staff, Lii Michif Otipemisiwak Family & Community Services staff and Secwepemc Child & Family Services staff.

We also received private donations from people in the community as well as caring businesses, who wanted to help out youth in care.
