Partnership and Training - 100 Mile House

Mar 12th 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Partnership is a chance for all Foster Parents, MCFD/DAA Social Workers, the Support to Family Care Network team, and your BCFFPA local branch to get together and talk about what is going well, what is tricky and how to best address ongoing challenges etc. This is a great place to bring forward general concerns that impact all foster parents/families and discuss them as a group.

Please note: for those with individual concerns we would encourage you to take them to the worker/agency, etc. that you need to follow up with, as this is not the appropriate venue to discuss them.

Training Topic: Business Side OF Fostering
We will be discussing relevant and up-to-date information for all Self-Employed Contractors with MCFD and DAAs. This training consists of three 1.5 hour sessions that will be presented over 2 days.

Topics covered include: understanding your contract, protocols and the process, documentation and reports, insurance for foster parents and WorkSafe BC (WCB). With all the Ministry changes in the last year, nearly 40% of this training had to be updated. So even if you have attended this before, it’s a good idea to check this out as a refresher.

Schedule:
Tuesday, March 12, 2019: Session 1
Thursday, April 11, 2019: Session 2 & 3
