Revelstoke Partnership Meeting, Potluck and Training Session

Aug 14th 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Partnership is a chance for all Foster Parents, MCFD/DAA Social Workers, the Support to Family Care Network team, and your BCFFPA local branch to get together and talk about what is going well, what is tricky and how to best address ongoing challenges etc. This is a great place to bring forward general concerns that impact all foster parents/families and discuss them as a group.

Please note: for those with individual concerns we would encourage you to take them to the worker/agency, etc. that you need to follow up with, as this is not the appropriate venue to discuss them.

Training Topic: Making Sense of Attention Problems DVD Series with Dr. Gordon Neufeld

"There are many kinds of attention problems, most deeply rooted in emotional and developmental dynamics. In this four hour course, participants will gain an understanding of how the attentional system develops and what can go wrong and why. Participants will also learn to differentiate between three basic kinds of attention problems that can all lead to an ADD diagnosis. The ultimate objective of the course is to provide the participants with strategies for addressing the roots of the attention problems in such a way that the symptoms abate, regardless of their underlying cause.”

  • Session 1: Anatomy of Attachment
  • Session 2: Two common Types of Attention Problems
  • Session 3:A Natural Explanation for the ADD Syndrome
  • Session 4: Helping Children Grow out of Attention Problems

We hope to see you there.
