Learning Challenges and School Advocacy - A 2 Part Series

Posted 9/18/26, 4:30 PM

Did you know that 10 -17 % of children aged 4-14 have a neurodevelopmental disability? Neurodiverse children and youth experience the world significantly differently than others and thus, the traditional parenting and teaching approaches do not work for these kiddos.

Our Learning Challenges and School Advocacy Workshop will cover:
Part 1 - Wednesday, October 21
In part 1 of this workshop, we will take a brief look at some of the common challenges and
learning differences some children / youth experience, including ADHD, autism, FASD,
Specific Learning Challenges such as Dyslexia, and more - and how these can affect the
way a child / youth learns. We will look at some tips to help you support and teach your
child. We end with a Q&A, along with resources.

Part 2 - Wednesday, October 28
In Part 2 of this workshop, we will continue to look at tips to help you support and teach
your child. The main portion of part 2 will focus on ways to advocate for better supports at
school for your child / youth. Again, we will end with a Q&A and, of course, we will leave
you with resources!
